Elizabeth Castellon
NMS Piano Faculty
Elizabeth began teaching in 2008 and has developed a teaching philosophy that is based on a strong teacher-student relationship. She believes that every student has unique needs, and it is the teacher’s job to provide education that encompasses the visual, written, and oral aspects of learning. Providing each student with attention, grace, and care in order for them to excel in excellence is a teacher’s role. Beginner students start with the fundamentals of piano and transition into theory and classical studies as soon as she feels confident in their note reading and rhythm capabilities. Many of her students participate in the Music Development assessments with the Royal Conservatory of Music, along with multiple performance opportunities, and all NMS activities.
Elizabeth graduated with her B.A. in music with an emphasis in piano performance studying under Dr. Christelle Menth at Colorado Christian University in Denver. Previous teachers include - Kevin Olson, Aleksandra Javonovic, and former Chicago Symphony Orchestra pianist, Mary Sauer.
Alongside teaching, Elizabeth has worked with many internationally acclaimed and recognized musical artists to produce masterclasses, tour collaborations, and performances in the states and in Europe.
