Redefining viola lessons in Chicago.

The New Music School viola department aims to deliver the finest viola lessons in Chicago and suburbs by presenting repertoire and technique in new and exciting directions. Instruction is offered for both children and adults. Parents can choose from either Traditional or Suzuki viola methods.

From the first day of lessons an emphasis is placed on core fundamentals. Students continue through the viola curriculum learning significant repertoire, all the while addressing the fundamentals necessary for all levels of performance. New Music School viola students also learn how the viola relates to all the fine arts by working with renowned professional vocalists, dancers, artists, and actors. Finally, our viola students are exposed to artist teachers through master classes with internationally known violists along with the opportunity to attend other instructional master classes.

Viola lessons are held at our downtown Chicago school and satellite locations. Training occurs at all ages in theory, ear training, sight singing, technique, and history.
