The New Music School Program utilizes a robust five-level curriculum, combining private study, chamber music, and theory/ear training. Our program challenges and grows with students; whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time or are looking to enter the most prestigious music conservatories in the world.

New Music School’s curriculum provides a seamless path toward musical excellence. Each House helps to track each students achievements. In order to complete each house, students fulfill requirements in performance, repertoire, musicianship, & technique.

Starting at NMS

At New Music School, our priority is teacher-student relationship. Once you are ready to join, we will set up an initial private lesson with a recommended teacher, based on the information provided via this form and our discussion over the phone. After the initial lesson, you will have the opportunity to enroll in the curriculum program and/or try a different teacher until we find the right fit.

Beginning Students
Students who have been studying for less than 3 years will be placed with one of our foundational level faculty for lessons.

Intermediate Students
Students who have been studying for 3-6 years will be placed with an instructor after discussions with our admissions coordinator, and review of the form submitted. Intermediate students will complete a placement jury at the end of their first semester to determine their curriculum house placement.

Advanced Students
Students who are at an advanced level will audition to study with an NMS artist or master level instructor based on their audition. Audition requirements are sent after we have discussed your student and their instrumental experience. Please fill the form out thoroughly.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school and encourage any questions.  Feel free to call +13126121969 with any questions when submitting the form for joining NMS. If you would prefer to email directly, you can do so at join@newmusicschool.com and our admissions coordinator will get back to you.
