From 2008-2011 Mr. Hager performed as a full member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra under the direction of Cliff Colnot.

Timothy Hager currently enjoys an active freelancing career in Chicago, where he is a member of the Chicago Composer’s Orchestra, the Logan Chamber Players and the Renovo Ensemble. In addition, he works with pianist Jeff Panko on solo repertoire.

Teaching

Timothy Hager is trained in the Suzuki method and teaches children as young as 3 years of age. He believes that, in addition to building musical skills, high quality musical instruction helps a student develop mental concentration and physical coordination. Parental involvement in lessons and during home practice strengthens the relationship between students and their parents. Most importantly, the joy of learning to play a musical instrument helps children create beauty and happiness in their lives.

Students of Mr. Hager participate in a variety of enriching musical programs including the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Illinois Music Educators Associations Orchestra, and Suzuki Summer Institutes around the country. Students attend one private and one group lesson per week. The private lesson is where new concepts and techniques are introduced one on one, while the group class provides a social setting for reviewing and reinforcing familiar material. Mr. Hager has been on the New Music School faculty since 2009.
